Payments made using bankers cheque is a popular and widely accepted method. The customer issue the cheque in the merchant 's name. Merchant deposits the same cheque in his bank and it is sent to customer's bank for clearance. The amount will be deposited in merchants account once clearance made. Usually bank's collect a clearance charge.

This form of payment is convenient for the customer. But the merchant will have to wait till the cheque gets cleared. If the locations between the merchant and customer are far away, the clearance period takes from few days to few weeks.
